Meet Roshni, a 9 year-old 4th grader who was the very first to arrive at Grace House India. This sweet, outgoing girl had one of the roughest starts we can imagine. When she was just a year-old, her father came home one night and doused Roshni’s sleeping mother with kerosene and set her on fire, with Roshni sleeping nearby, hoping to free himself to marry another. By the grace of God her mother survived and, after many excruciating surgeries and an extended recovery, was able to work but was unable to provide Roshni with an education and the care or opportunities she desired for her precious daughter.

We have been blessed to be able to bring both of them to Grace House, employing Roshni's mother to cook and care for all of our girls while providing Roshni an education and an opportunity to be all she can be.

As we are told in Isiah 61:3 "...he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for His own glory."
