Meet Saloni, the girl we affectionately refer to as Saloni Baloney!  This precious thing never stops..... never stops moving, never stops smiling, never stops giggling.   A 7 year-old 2nd grader who has captured all our hearts.

We don't know a lot about Saloni but we do know that she has at least one younger sister and three older brothers.  Saloni's mother has passed away and her father sent her to Grace House to be cared for.  We also know that at one point in her short little life she was used as a beggar on the streets of Mumbai, starved and beaten if her days earnings didn't meet her "quota".  Through all that, Saloni's spirit was not broken.  She is both happy and bold, thankful for what she has and where she is.

We recently asked Saloni, if you could change anything what would it be?  Her wish?  To build a home in her village for her family.  She has every reason to be jaded and yet her heart remains pure and for this we are grateful.

He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.”
