Protected: Is Your Calling Clear?

It was 2014. Craig and I were on a sourcing trip with friends from Texas, arranged by our Pastor in Central India. Throughout the week, God continuously placed a heavy burden on our hearts about at-risk girls. A safe place for them to live, clean water, and a good education. With each day of travel, the burden grew.

While asleep on our last night before returning home, Craig had a dream.  In it, there were girls – clean, healthy, happy girls – running and playing, and then, Craig heard the voice of God.

“I will open a door. All you have to do is walk through it.” -God

When Craig woke from the dream, he found himself standing in an open doorway. Confused and disoriented, unsure that what he thought just happened really did, he closed the door, bolted it, and went back to sleep. When he woke in the morning, he found that same door unbolted and wide open.

God’s call on Craig’s life was clear.  He was to open a safe home for at-risk girls. What about your call?

Do you recognize when God calls you to a task?
Do you walk through the doors He is opening for you?
Or do you walk past them, not wanting to shoulder the responsibility that inevitably follows His call?

Here’s the trick to it all, what we all need to realize: Yes, God’s call comes with responsibility, but it also comes with immeasurable blessings!

“And God can make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”  2 Corinthians 9:8

If you aren’t walking through the open doors provided, or worse, ignoring them, you are missing out on the abundant grace that God has in store for you.

We'll be sure to share some specific needs with you regarding Grace House India in the coming weeks. Until then, may we all be open to recognizing the future opportunities He calls us to for His glory.
Sincerely,

Stacey Smith
