Deepa

Deepa is a soft-spoken, curious girl who never stops asking questions. One of the girls who has naturally taken on a leadership role, her childlike side comes through in her need for hugs and physical touch. Give Deepa a hug, and she will return a smile and big, bright eyes that will melt your heart. She enjoys dancing and singing along with her favorite music, watching movies, and playing games with the other Grace House Girls.

Deepa has grown immensely since coming to Grace House. Deepa says she did not know who Jesus was and lived in poverty with her alcoholic father. When asked if she wanted to return home for a short visit, she replied with a resounding "no", telling us she doesn't feel safe there. She now knows Jesus and understands that His love for her overflows, and because of this, she knows she will return to her village when she is older to give back to those who have so little!

Deepa loves attending church and learning about God's Word. She is incredibly smart and works hard at her schoolwork. Deepa dreams of living a life devoted to God through serving others, she hopes to draw on her experiences growing up at Grace House to help others.
